1. 13 th Floor Haunted House
Located in Melrose Park on a ground-level warehouse, the 13 th Floor Haunted House features two parts that span over a 20 minute visit. After entering the “purgatory”, you’ll experience a journey through hell with nightmare after nightmare. If the sights alone don’t scare you, the sounds of chainsaws and endless screaming will surely do the trick.
2. Dungeon of Doom
Dungeon of Doom is a large haunted house in north suburban Zion. Throughout your visit, you’ll be ushered down dark alleys and passageways where you’ll get glimpses of chain-sawed humans, crazy asylum patients, and rotting “meat.” It can take over an hour to get through the haunted house and touching is not off limits.
3. Statesville Haunted Prison
The Statesville Haunted Prison isn’t your ordinary haunted house. The props are so on point you’ll wonder if it’s the real thing and the carnival funhouse elements will no doubt mess with your head. Hellsgate Haunted House in Lockport is a multi-level mansion hidden deep in the woods. After traveling through the zombie-infested woods and across the lively cemetery, you’ll reach the haunted house complete with secret passageways and the undead.
6. Massacre Haunted House
In Montgomery, the Massacre Haunted House features more than 30,000 square feet of terrifying space. The indoor attraction was fully remodeled in 2017 and features a number of new scares. In addition to its expansive haunted house, Massacre also has new horror-themed escape rooms to try.
7. Midnight Terror Haunted House
Midnight Terror Haunted House in Oak Lawn has been completely renovated with new rooms, characters, and layouts which bring the haunted house to life. With more than 20 years in the business, Midnight Terror has made a name in the entertainment industry by combining old school tactics with new school technology. The horror playground stretches more than 26,000 square feet with countless rooms and spooky characters.
